There are certainly a large number of reputable and trusted home inspectors and commercial building inspectors available—but how do you find them? How do you know if they are as reputable as you are led to believe?
When it comes to a home or building inspection, you want to know it is being conducted by a trustworthy professional; someone whose opinion matters—because it does when it comes to an inspection.
Adequate research and verification are necessary to ensure the company you select to perform your home inspection can be trusted to be on your side and not make any mistakes that will cost you in the end. One of the best ways to know if you have found a good home and commercial building inspector is to verify if they are licensed and certified.
Licenses and Certification
Select type of home and building inspections require special licenses or certifications. In order be a Florida Inspector, a license is required. In addition, to be able to conduct a pest or termite inspection, special certifications are required.
Other certifications can be gained that are not necessarily required but show the inspector you are looking into is a verified and trusted source. Once such certification is through ASHI and the other is through InterNACHI.
The American Society of Home Inspectors, Inc. (ASHI) is considered to be one of the most respected Home Inspector Associations that a Licensed Inspector can join; it’s also the oldest association in the industry.
